JOB DESCRIPTION
TuSimple is the self-driving technology company with a mission to bring automation to the trucking industry. The User Experience Design Team of Software Engineering plays a critical role in the mission. At TuSimple, the user experience design team is responsible for the user experience of software platforms that support the autonomous vehicle and related development work.
Example projects we are working on include:
- A platform that displays critical vehicle information for test operators and developers
- A platform for developers to regenerate the scenarios our vehicles met in the real-world
- A Map editing platform for map producers to edit TuSimple HD map
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Conduct user research, usability testing, and product analytics. Convert user demands into workable wireframes, concept designs, and prototypes
- Develop both high & low fidelity mockups and interfaces that are clean, intuitive, and innovative
- Utilize principle-based interaction design to generate and refine core concepts, interactions, and information design
- Ability to leverage and balance business principles, stakeholders, and technical requirements while delivering user-centered design solutions
- Establish a strong relationship with colleagues and partners, bringing them into the creative process and demonstrate the effectiveness and importance of good design
WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
- Minimum of three years of UI and UX design experience for software/web applications with strong visual design skills
- Bachelor's degree in Interaction Design, Graphic Design, Communication Arts, Information Design, or equivalent experience
- Proficient with design and prototyping tools (i.e. Sketch, Illustrator, Photoshop, Invision)
- Self-sufficient, able to manage workload to meet project deadlines. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and to make trade-offs when needed to optimize outcome when conditions change
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
