Responsibilities: This position will be responsible for important work, including: • Meeting with clients in person and via Zoom/phone. • Communicating with clients, opposing lawyers, and judges via email or letter. • Organizing and maintaining file organization for family law matters. • Balancing ongoing and emerging priorities for matters assigned to your team. • Drafting motions, pleadings, and orders for filing at the courthouse. • Preparing discovery and responses to discovery requests. • Helping attorneys prepare cases for evidentiary hearings and trials. Qualifications: If the statements below apply to you, then you may be our next family law paralegal: • A strong interest in family law and helping people. • Proven track record of assisting clients in a law firm setting. • Prior paralegal or legal assistance experience. • Experience with PracticePanther/Clio/My Case or other cloud-based law office management software. • Independent, self-starter who thrives on immersion in a rapidly changing environment and has excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. • Proactive, can-do attitude, with great follow-through and resourcefulness, along with attention to detail. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to be personable yet persistent. • Knowledge of the legal industry. • Real-life experience & a few “battle scars” to give you client empathy and understanding is an asset. • Experience overcoming a major obstacle in life and making an important change in your life, so you know at your core that others can do it too, is a plus. Compensation: $40,000 - $55,000 yearly
