    Turion Space is seeking a Satellite GNC engineer to join our team in Irvine, CA. As a GNC engineer, you will work closely with the Turion Space team to assist in the design, analysis, and implementation of our satellite's guidance, navigation, and control systems. You will work closely with the lead GNC engineer and flight software team to create the mission profiles and algorithms.  Compensation: $80-$120k, 0.1-0.7% equity Responsibilities: • Assist in the design, analysis, and implementation of satellite GNC systems  • Simulation software development for verification and validation of GNC software and hardware configurations  • Assist in recruiting, interviewing, and hiring additional teammates for our rapidly growing team  Qualifications: • Advanced degree (MS or Ph.D.), or BS + 2 years experience, in an engineering discipline with a focus on control systems, orbital mechanics, or similar field  • Working knowledge of satellite guidance and control (hardware and software)  • Working knowledge of satellite subsystems and components  • Strong development experience in C/C++ and/or Python  • Experience optimizing and validating spacecraft control algorithms  • Working knowledge of attitude determination filtering techniques  • Demonstrated ability to personally design, build, and test software from scratch  • Experience developing 6 degrees of freedom vehicle simulations or flight software  • Able to learn quickly and collaborate with multiple disciplines encompassed within the spacecraft design and testing umbrella  • Capable of identifying and solving complex problems with little to no supervision or direction  • Be able to work extended hours and weekends as needed  • To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State  PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: • Software testing and verification experience (unit testing and performance verification)  • Experience designing and/or prototyping space systems software  • Hardware-in-the-loop and Software-in-the-loop testing experience  • Experience with Rendezvous and Proximity Operations and Docking (RPOD)  • Experience with low thrust trajectories and spacecraft with ΔV propulsion systems  • Experience implementing optimization algorithms  • Mission operations experience  Compensation: $80,000 - $120,000 yearly
