    CONTROLLER – FAIRFAX, VA – HYBRID ROLE (2 DAYS/WEEK IN OFFICE)

    COMPENSATION: $125K-$145K+

    Additional Benefits: Company Paid health insurance options, 403(b) retirement and life insurance.

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    We are representing a Controller opportunity with a Not-for-Profit organization here in the Fairfax, VA area.

    This role will serve as the right hand to the CFO, will manage a team of 10+ (4 direct reports), and will be responsible for managing the accounting operations for the organization, including overseeing general ledger, payroll, AP, AR, Billing and property accounting. This person will also be responsible for overseeing their various audits (annual, 403b, Medicaid, 990, and 1099)

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Manage all accounting operations to include GL, A/P, A/R, Payroll, Billing, and property accounting
    • Coordinate and manage the annual financial, Medicaid audits, 403(b), 1099, and 990 preparation
    • Manage the annual budgeting process
    • Implement and document accounting processes and procedures to maintain and strengthen internal controls
    • Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
    • Ensure compliance with GAAP for not-for-profit entities and Medicaid regulations
    • Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
    • Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation, and continuously improve internal controls

    REQUIREMENTS AND SKILL SET:

    • BS/BA degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
    • CPA is required
    • 8+ years’ experience, with a minimum of 2 years in a progressing managerial role.
    • Health care experience preferred
    • Experience in billing, insurance claims process, and Medicaid reimbursements are strongly preferred
    • Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains (GP) is preferred
