    TURNER MINING GROUP - ONBOARDING SPECIALIST

    BASIC FUNCTION:   

    The responsibilities of the onboarding specialist include being solely responsible for initial contact with new employees, provide new hires a top tier onboarding experience, assisting new hires with filling out new hire paperwork correctly, helping new hires learn the company policies, working closely with people coordination to schedule start dates for new hires, and gathering the necessary compliance paperwork.

    Human Resources Manager

    MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    •    Welcoming Turner Mining Group New Hires, and prepare onboarding kits as necessary 
    •        Own the total onboarding process from receiving signed offer letters to hand-off to people coordinator
    •        Responsible for effectively communicating on new hire onboarding progress to people team
    •        Assist in overall revamp of Turner Mining Group's onboarding experience for field personnel as well as management of staff orientation experience.
    •        Emailing new hires with details about the company, educate new hires on onboarding expectations, work schedules, and dress codes (steel toed boots, etc.).
    •        Providing new hires with manuals, guidelines, and passwords, as needed.
    •        Detailing all new hires' initial tasks and answering any queries.
    •        Ensuring new hires have the necessary technical assistance to set up their hardware and software.
    •        Gathering and filing all paperwork related to new hires, including contracts and non-disclosure agreements.
    •        Coordinate with other functions on new hire needs such as IT set up, equipment, tools, etc.
    •        Ensure new hires understand and are educated on Turner Mining Group's offered benefits and answering questions regarding benefits and how to enroll to support HR Manager
    •        Exhibit Turner Mining Group's company values through the onboarding experience
    •        Work as back-up to Human Resources Manager for payroll management

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

    •        A bachelor's or associate's degree in human resources management or a related field is preferred
    •        Experience as an onboarding specialist or in a similar HR role.
    •        Experience with HR standard software, such as HRIS and MS Office.
    •        Experience with ATS and resume databases.
    •        Good working knowledge of HR practices and labor legislation.
    •        The ability to work with sensitive and confidential information.
    •        Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    •        Strong teamwork skills.
    •        Good organizational and time management skills.
