    Assistant Editor, Frontlist Turner Publishing is looking for an organized and enthusiastic Assistant Editor to join our Frontlist Editorial team. This position will report directly to the Managing Editor and provides editorial support to the Frontlist team through author interaction, metadata management, and day-to-day editorial tasks to ensure all titles are published on time and with quality. As a member of a small team, this position has the potential to grow and gain experience from other departments within the company, in addition to Editorial. This role is a full-time position in Nashville, TN, but hybrid or remote work would be considered for the right candidate. The salary range is $40,000-45,000. A cover letter is not required but is greatly encouraged. Responsibilities: • Communicate with authors and agents to answer questions and ensure timely delivery of materials • Act as a liaison between Managing Editor and Marketing, Production, and Design departments • Review line and copy edits, adding editorial notes as needed • Code manuscripts for typesetting • Input and manage title metadata • Draft and edit flap copy, blurbs, and descriptions as needed • Format and transmit files to Production and Design Departments, including image files and art logs • Perform some administrative duties as needed This position has the potential to expand and include the following Design and Production tasks: • Create mechanicals for secondary formats, including resizing design files • File for CIP and submit copyright applications Qualifications: • Strong organizational and communication skills • Proficiency in Microsoft Word required • Project management skills/Ability to manage multiple projects at once • Ability and willingness to quickly learn operations systems • Minimum 1 year of book publishing or editorial experience is preferred • Adobe InDesign experience is a plus • Google Drive experience is a plus • Ingram Publisher Services knowledge is a plus • Onix for books knowledge is a plus Compensation: $40,000 - $45,000 yearly
