    Job Description

    This is independent clerical-accounting work maintaining a wide variety of complex accounting and financial records.

    Responsibilities: 

    • Maintains a variety of complex ledgers and journals.
    • Prepare a variety of complex fiscal statements and reports.
    • Balances and reconcile assigned accounts.
    • Prepare requests for release of funds.
    • Review and approve invoices for payment.
    • Assist in developing and installing accounting methods and procedures. 
    • Reconcile expenditures and receipts. 
    • Assist auditors as necessary.
    • Perform related work as required.

    Please note: you may be required to perform other duties as assigned that are not outlined in the job description, you may be required to work overtime at short notice, and asked to provide cover during vacation time / sickness of other members of the Admin team.

    SKILL AND ABILITIES: 

    • Knowledge of bookkeeping principles and practices.
    • Experience with office procedures and practices.
    • Basic filing practices.
    • Ability to perform basic arithmetical calculations.
    • Able to maintain fiscal records.
    • Ability to review fiscal data for accuracy and completeness.
    • Able to post, balance and reconcile fiscal records.
    • Experience compiling fiscal data.
    • Ability to communicate effectively.
    • Must be able to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.
    • Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
    • Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures relating to an accounting program.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: 

    • A high school diploma or its equivalent and one to three years of bookkeeping or clerical accounting experience.
    • College education from an accredited institution can substitute at the rate of 30 credit semester or 45 quarter hours for each year of the required experience, provided such education includes two courses in bookkeeping or accounting.
    • Vocational/technical training in bookkeeping or accounting can substitute at the rate of 720 classroom hours for each year of the required experience.
