    Job Description

    JOB DESCRIPTION:

     

    1.     Work with internal and external parties to organize components of a large ground up campus development on the Real Estate and Workplace Services (REWS) team.

    2.     Lead the coordination and management of the cost reporting and schedule.

    3.     Responsible for all areas of project controls from preconstruction to the agreement of the project final account including: the management of the project schedule requiring the tracking of construction work activities, progress and reporting to the owner’s development executive, reporting the developments budget to the owner’s financial and project controls executive team, including the reconciliation of the cost vs. value and the management of the internal cost management team to control the projects budget and change management.

    4.     Provide support to a major blue chip technology client, advising on strategy throughout the project lifecycle.

    5.     Track and maintain project budget on real estate mega-projects, some in excess of $1bn.

    6.     Oversee and provide reasoned narrative on any shift in schedule on a month to month basis to ensure projects are delivered on time. Identify any risks which may also impact completion dates. 

    7.     Prepare and present of detailed monthly commercial status reports for senior leadership within the business. Including budget vs cost analysis, identified risks and other construction specific metrics.

    8.     Perform change management processes including liaising with contractors and designers to agree cost and schedule impacts. Ensure clients are given maximum value for money. Assess high value change orders for additional client requests and other types of claims including prolongation. 

    9.     Manage overall coordination between the cost management and accounting team to review and approve the projects interim payment applications. Review these interim applications for payment when required, including GMP cost reimbursable subcontractors.

    10.  Responsible for contract management systems. Management for the administration of all contracts within the client’s contract management platform. Ensure all contracts are kept up to date and review the contract’s terms and conditions and advising the client.

    11.  Identify any cost/schedule savings as a result of company review of any change orders, initial contract reviews and billing.

    12.  Prepare cost and scheduling estimates for procurement of materials, equipment and labor. Benchmark and identify trends within both the local market, USA market and worldwide industry as a whole, in order to determine how these may affect pricing and conditions on the projects not only in the USA but also the worldwide market. Respond to ad hoc requests from client’s senior leadership teams.

    13.  Maintain standards, processes, procedures and deliverables for all reporting activities for the assigned delivery team. Ensure all work completed at a project level aligns with company policies and client’s policies also.

    14.  Ensure all records throughout the project lifecycle are well documented and stored in order to ensure easy audit from inception to completion and occupancy of the projects.

    15.  Must be able to communicate results verbally and in writing.

    16.  Interface with numerous industry professionals within the project and development team.

    17.  Perform all of the foregoing using:

    ·         Google Docs, Sheets and Slides;

    ·         Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint;

    ·         Bluebeam;

    ·         CSA and MEP changes.

    Qualifications

    Field and 3 EDUCATION AN EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:  Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Related years of experience in the job offered or 3 years of experience in the Related Occupation.

    RELATED OCCUPATION:   

     

    Cost Consultant or any other job title performing the following job duties:

     

    1.     Applying unit costs and productivity rates as provided by a supervisor.

    2.     Providing analysis on projects, execute work plans, and participating in data collection and solution development with a focus on financial analysis and capital investment.

    3.     Providing expertise on cost estimation in all phases of construction work.

    4.     Completing assigned cost estimate tasks, change orders, value engineering, payment valuations, risk assessments and other quantity surveying post contract cost management duties. 

    5.     Preparing cost and scheduling estimates for procurement of materials, equipment and labor. Benchmarking and identifying trends within both the local market, USA market and worldwide industry as a whole, in order to determine how these may affect pricing and conditions on the projects not only in the USA but also the worldwide market.
