    Job Description

    • Develop accurate and timely project-based electrical construction estimates for commercial real estate construction projects from concept through detailed design.
    • Create, deliver, and present detailed cost plans and estimates for design-build jobs and design changes.
    • Interpret electrical drawings & specifications and perform quantity survey to prepare estimates with accuracy for complete electrical system installation. Understand engineering in electrical construction and stay abreast of electrical market trends using Bluebeam & Accubid estimating software.
    • Carry out budget exercises for high-profile client’s around the world assuring client’s requirements and design intent is met.
    • Provide cost management services for large scale development projects. Review proposed electrical design changes/change orders for completeness with plans & specifications and accuracy. Negotiate costs.
    • Maintain working knowledge of National Electric Code (NEC). Ability to identify implications of electrical services based on cost trends, site conditions, historical data, NECA standards and labor markets & cost drivers such as Unions & Tax.
    • Work with Project controls and Cost management teams to review monthly billing of electrical trades. Review invoices for accuracy, identify areas of concern and request additional information (or) documentation where applicable.
    • Provide input to design engineering and input into value engineering exercises.
    • Implement benchmarking of electrical systems for validation and target-setting on major projects to ensure accurate data capture.
    • Perform work in Medium Voltage & Low voltage (LV) and fire alarm systems.
    • Conduct estimating system training for estimators, project managers, and project controls.
    • Work collaboratively with stakeholders in the preparation of estimates/cost plans and support client’s with monthly presentations

    EDUCATION AN EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:  Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and 3 years of experience in job offered or 3 years of experience in the Related Occupation
