    Job Description

     

    JOB OBJECTIVES:

     

    • Analyzes project requirements with project team, checks that all essential work activities have been identified in sufficient detail to serve as a basis for developing realistic project schedules.
    • Defines, jointly with the project team, project work and cost breakdown structure, develops and maintains properly linked, required resource loaded/integrated, baseline and current schedules that provide time phased baseline, actual and forecast data for project.
    • Works with project team to define the necessary resources for project completion, evaluating the work breakdown structure and standard productivity.
    • Must be able to create and maintain the schedule using critical path method with little to no supervision
    • Able to work well with Project Managers, Team, stakeholders, and other firms to maintain schedule integrity.
    • Working with Contractors and Sub Contractors on daily basis.
    • Working closely with various disciplines in project teams to ensure the accuracy and completeness of the schedules produced without compromising your independence as a scheduler so you are in a position to advise project management on issues requiring judgment.
    • Actively monitor and communicate any possible project issues that could delay the schedule.
    • Works closely with engineering, construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning, client and contractors to identify potential changes in scope and quantify the impact of each change in a timely fashion.
    • Working independently is crucial.
    • Creating managing, and overseeing schedules using critical path method.
    • Able to produce high level and 1, 3, 6 month look ahead from P6 for reporting.
    • Prepare and update monthly progress reports.
    • Actively monitor and communicate any possible project issues that could delay the schedule.
    • Develop schedule-benchmarking reports.
    • Preparing Staffing, Engineering and Construction progress and customized reports.
    • Perform probabilistic analysis on integrated schedules and contractor schedules.
    • Conduct the required project schedule analysis, critical path analysis and schedule risk analysis for the project as a whole.
    • Analyse deviations from the baseline in the Project Master schedule highlighting bottlenecks / delays and propose corrective actions.
    • Implementing best practices and reporting trends both internally and externally.
    • Ability to coordinate & organize multiple sources of schedule inputs/performance data into a master schedule platform and deliver project/program status reports as required.
    • Implement Project Planning & Scheduling strategy, plans and procedures, reflecting both Company and contractor roles, responsibilities and expectations.
    • Promote and maintain the overall integration and integrity of contractor schedules within the Program suite of project schedules.
    • Support the Project Team in the implementation of an integrated enterprise based, cross-functional and master schedule program.
    • Prepare the Integrated Planning / Scheduling contribution to the Monthly Project Report and specific reports / presentations.
    • Track and Monitor Program Schedule.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

     

    • A minimum of 5 years post-graduate experience in a construction cost management role.
    • Experience working on large-scale infrastructure projects which include development of resources such as Water Treatment Plants, Waste Water Treatment Plants, Substations, Overhead Power Lines, Water and Gas Pipelines, and Roads.
    • Data center, industrial and/or high-tech project experience, including commissioning and validation activities, is beneficial.
    • Great people skills with an ability to present and communicate effectively.
    • Working in a planning and scheduling position for engineering, procurement, maintenance and construction projects is essential.
    • A background in Project Controls is beneficial.
    • Familiarity with construction drawings, specifications and construction contracting. 
    • Knowledge of system start-up sequences and major dependencies.
    • Capable of producing logic driven schedules from limited project information a conceptual schedule from initiation through to closeout; identify major phases through that timeline and be able to determine and discuss dependencies.
    • Able to convert data into Tableau reports and graphics.
    • Experience developing and analyzing detailed construction schedules.
    • Proficient with Primavera P6, Unifier and Microsoft Project.
    • Good knowledge of construction industry technical matters, such as different procurement routes, value management and value engineering.
    • Some cost engineering knowledge would be preferable.

    EDUCATION:

    • College or post-graduate degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
    • Some cost engineering knowledge would be beneficial.
    • Certification by AACE in planning/scheduling is preferred.
    • Experience with the US construction industry is preferred.
