    Do you want to be part of the in-house team helping one of the biggest technology companies in the world deliver their vision?  Turner & Townsend are engaged to support our client with many complex projects, responsible for managing large-scale ground-up, corporate interiors and tenant improvement construction projects for our high-profile clients in the San Francisco bay area.

     

    Turner & Townsend are engaged with one of the largest Technology companies to support their global Data Center program. We are seeking the ideal Program Manager to help our client achieve their program aspirations to drive efficiency and innovation within the Data Center environment. You will work within a team of professional business consultants with a focus on service excellence and stakeholder management.

     

    The Program Manager will be supporting one of the largest technology companies in the world to deliver its global Data Center program. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing consulting and support services at the program-level to the Program Controls Group’s Contract Operations Team. Responsibilities include support in the development of delivery strategies and business process definition and implementation, business signal and demand analysis, supply chain strength testing, end-to-end process flow mapping, planning risk and change implementation.

     

    The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, able to take the initiative and drive activities with limited supervision. The Program Manager should have a minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience working on large-scale ground-up, infrastructure construction projects, in a project controls or on-site project management capacity.

     

    JOB OBJECTIVES:

     

    • Collaborate and advise clients to understand and come to agreements on optimal delivery methods and contracting methodologies at a program-level, across multiple projects in given global regions.
    • Analyze existing supply chain depth and perform gap assessments to understand priorities across trades and regions to meet future project demand needs.
    • Provide fact-based recommendations on desirable contracting and procurement approaches to use across the owner’s supplier base, from firms involved in design through to completed construction.
    • Project planning and continuous improvement: Proactively identify ways to reduce activity lead times and variance, to support swift delivery of preconstruction activities without compromising quality of performance.
    • Support client counterparts by developing insightful and concise presentations that detail the need for change, project status and challengers, support needed to help drive executive buy-in and sustain performance improvement. 
    • Coordination with internal teams to define goals, scope parameters, project risks and assumptions.
    • Gather, consolidate and manage from historic past projects pertaining to key commercial performance and core contracting data. 
    • Build and maintain relationships with teams across the program controls group, project management teams, legal and the procurement team.
    • Leading and facilitating sessions and meetings between cross-functional project teams.
    • Managing the flow of project information between the team and the client, through regular meetings and written communications.
    • Knowledge management – Ensuring that key information and learning generated from each workstream is inputted into internal databases and shared.
    • Process improvement – Identifying and acting upon ways to improve internal systems and processes referring ideas to the appropriate line manager.

    KEY REQUIREMENTS:

     

    • Strong knowledge of fundamental construction/ project management concepts
    • Strong data and analytics capabilities with the ability to analyse and translate complex and large amounts of data into concise and meaningful messaging.
    • Highly proactive, resourceful and self-sufficient individual who can drive projects to completion and work through obstacles to produce recommendations from high-level initial concepts.
    • Strong project & time management skills: Is able to track projects against milestones and timelines for long-term initiatives and provide health status updates to clients in a succinct manner.
    • Ability to advise at a strategic level during the conceptual stage, including providing advice on the different approaches that can be adopted in order to successfully achieve the client’s overall objectives.
    • Work as an effective team member within the context of completing specific deliverables individually, and with peers and clients.
    • Key information and data is effectively shared and appropriately retained.
    • Proficiency in reporting systems and tools - Google Suite and Data Studio. 
    • Excellent communicator with various stakeholders including high-level management.
    • Highly motivated and driven.
    • Highly organized, can manage own workload, action items and also help keep peers ontrack as well.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

     

    • 5 to 8 years’ relevant experience either through: onsite construction management experience or project controls experience on major projects and programs.
    • Experience in high tech, residential, commercial, data center, manufacturing preferred.
    • Proven ability to be highly effective in a client facing role.
    • A recognized university degree in construction management, engineering, project management, or a related technical field.
    • Track record of successfully implementing processes and procedures on major projects or programs.
    • Accreditation by AACE, PMI or similar institutions.
