    Job Description

    The Monaca Finance Advisor (FA) role is responsible for partnering with the site to deliver on operational and financial commitments. The FA is responsible for providing quality commercial acumen and value improvement insights to help deliver bottom line performance and drive top quartile outcomes. The FA will closely collaborate with Supply Chain on Commercial Contracting opportunities to enable continuous improvement, cost leadership and third party spend initiatives. The Advisor will increase efficiencies through digitalization efforts in alignment with site priorities and vision.

    Responsibilities:

    Finance Advisors serve as the face of Finance for specific business opportunities or challenges, on a selective basis, prioritized based on value and risk.

    • Recommend process efficiencies to Monaca business partners through development of a knowledge of site operations and understanding of generating end-to-end value.
    • Leverage digitalization tools to streamline site activities and enhance financial transparency while ensuring alignment with key site priorities.
    • Collaborate with teams throughout Shell Polymers to understand new business opportunities.
    • Use internal and external information to assess competitiveness of performance and to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement through benchmarking.

    Accountabilities:

    • Lead and drive process improvement and excellence as One Finance team delivering both at site and with Shell’s global finance teams in Chennai and Manila as well as across departmental boundaries.
    • Partner with multiple Business lines (i.e. Operating, Maintenance, Technical, Engineering, Projects, TA, Commercial, Logistics) to ensure delivery of financial and operational commitments safely, reliably and in compliance with approved policies, procedures, and accounting guidelines.
    • Provide strong and effective fiscal leadership, including finance and business support, analysis, project support, and controllership.
    • Leverage knowledge of the business environment and its impact on performance to articulate and propose opportunities and/or areas of value leakage.
    • Champion continuous improvement, cost leadership and third party spend initiatives by collaborating successfully with Contracting and Procurement and the multiple Business lines.

    Special Challenges:

    • Support the business and One Finance team in the change management journey from a greenfield mega-project to the start-up of a new Polymers business in Shell.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • 5 years’ Finance experience
    • Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
    • Broad finance knowledge with strong financial analytic skills
    • Able to gain the confidence of various internal and external parties building on strong knowledge and understanding of the business drivers, value, and risk
    • Flexibility and agility to deploy the appropriate finance skills to address the specific and varying business needs across the pool they work in, leveraging a matrix organization (FO/CoE/Business)
    • Problem solving mindset with the courage to ensure professional financial rigor is applied to commercial decision-making process and risk management bringing analytics and insights to the table
    • Ability to apply a risk-based, practical approach to problem solving, coupled with the ability to rationalize decisions with significant uncertainty and incomplete info
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to relay financial information to people with different financial background
    • Ability to understand end-users needs and translate into successful delivery
    • Continuous improvement mindset and ability to lead through change
    • Knowledge of SAP software

    Work Schedule/Shift: 9/80 or 5/40 Work Schedule
