TBL, a staffing and training agency, is hiring a Project Manager to drive project delivery for our growing business. We’re looking for a Project Manager with experience in the day-to-day realities of project staffing, scheduling, budgeting, as well as organizational communications and change. As we invest more in worker-led research projects and other job placement initiatives, we’re looking for a Project Manager committed to workforce development and economic equality in California and nationwide.
Essential:
Project Management - 3+ years proven project management experience, with a track record of managing multiple projects and associated staff consistently on time, quality, and budget.
Business Development - Ability to turn conversations with partners/funders into proposals.
Strategy and Planning - Ability to develop project strategies and plans to deliver them.
Critical Thinking - Ability to make an evidence-based case for our worker-led approach.
Schedule and Budget Management - Ability to develop, implement, and adjust project schedules and budgets.
Systems and Processes Development - Ability to build internal systems and facilitate processes and develop them over time, building capacity over time.
Diverse Client Management - Ability to manage and maintain relationships with workers, employers, partners, and other stakeholders.
Team Engagement - An understanding of the engagement required to achieve authentic, positive change with workers who have a variety of life experiences (youth, formerly incarcerated, immigrant, etc.), and ability to design and implement relevant systems and programs.
Constructive Leadership - Ability to name and address challenges that arise in collaborations.
Written Communications - Ability to produce compelling written outputs to key stakeholders.
Desirable:
Experience with research projects and/or job placements programs - Familiarity with applied research methods and/or in workforce development, job training, and placement programs. This builds on TBL’s “Worker- Researcher” model developed to train participants as researchers.
Knowledge of technical and operation workforce and staffing systems - Knowledge of how they work, the challenges they face, and how we might do things differently.
Experience in managing organizational culture change - Experience facilitating a shift in values and practices, and familiarity with forms of self-directed work such as sociocracy.
Based in the San Francisco Bay Area with most travel being done virtually under COVID-19.
Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Managing Director
Overseeing project setup and planning, in collaboration with partners
Overseeing hiring, management, and growth of project staff
Supervising project staff, schedules, budgets, deliverables, and milestones
Remuneration:
Competitive pay (appx. $35-$55 per hour) and bonuses
