    At Turning Basin Labs, we are experiencing a wonderful period of growth as the direct result of successes in various public and private sector development efforts, increased policy support for workers rights, and an operational infrastructure and focus to support the onboarding of vested employer partners.To continue on this upward trajectory, the Employer Engagement Specialist will have an immediate impact on our productivity, streamlining strategic initiatives, overseeing employer engagement efforts and a process by which we onboard and assess their needs for talent.

    The ideal candidate will have proven experience in public and/or private sector environments supporting and leading customer relation management, business operations, and account management. Our goal is to onboard at least ten (10) new employer partners ready to hire TBL talent in the next fiscal year. The ideal candidate thrives in an entrepreneurial, start-up environment and derives motivation from building systems and processes, versus plugging into an established structure.

    SCOPE SUMMARY

    The Employer Relations Specialist will be responsible for developing relationships with employers, senior executives, tech, green tech and incubator start-up owners, nonprofit leaders and successfully support efforts to place TBL clients into jobs and collaborate with outreach and program management efforts to provide ongoing support services. This position requires someone that has experience in workforce development, for-profit work, career services, and business development.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Cultivate and maintain partnerships with employers; working with TBL leadership to set KPIs for placement targets and employer engagement metrics (ie number of employers with x number of roles to yield x number of placements)
    • Define terms and conditions for employer partners in collaboration with TBL operations staff
    • Perform outreach to potential employer partners and coalesce feedback from labor market data and employer interviews into tangible, actionable responses in form of training and recruitment tactics
    • Log successful matches in agreed-upon CRM and curate success stories and employer testimonials for development efforts
    • Assist in the matching process of TBL talent with employer demand
    • Coordinate and systematize talent referrals deploying high-touch customer service for employer partners
    • Support TBL learning & development efforts to assure TBL talent is interview-ready and comfortable in negotiations
    • Network with businesses, trade associations, nonprofits to develop new employer relationships
    • Manage database of employer leads in company-supported CRM; advising on structure of customer relation management efforts for future
    • Partner with TBL leadership to refine industry specialization ie where demand for workers meets high-quality jobs

    SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor’s degree preferred but relevant professional experience considered in lieu of a degree
    • Ability to develop a marketing plan based on research and market segment identification, and including targeted outreach strategies
    • At least five years’ experience in job development or account management
    • Demonstrated experience meeting goals in a performance-driven setting
    • Knowledge of labor laws and legal employment classifications (ie differences between W-9 and W-2 workers)
    • Superior communications skills, ability to engage a wide range of constituents
    • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with a team and extrapolate how individual performance ladders up to organizational-wide goals
    • Exceptional sales skills with a demonstrated ability to generate leads, close deals and deliver results
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, CRMs and online sourcing tools like LinkedIn and industry platforms
    • Experience working with labor market data, ie what technical and soft skills are in demand per any given sector
    • Extremely versatile, dedicated to efficient productivity and collaboration
    • Experience planning and leading strategic initiatives

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Experience with Customer Relations Management
    • Consulting experience with a focus on program management
    • Proven success in a project coordination role
    • Nimble business mind with a focus on developing creative solutions to complex problems
    • Experience running outreach campaigns and focus groups
    • Bilingual speaking a plus; Spanish, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese)

    COMPENSATION and LOCATION

    The hiring salary for this position is an annual compensation of $90-$100,000.

    Final compensation will be determined based on the candidate's location and experience.

    This position is 100% remote and may be located anywhere in California. Occasional travel to the Bay Area for team development may be required.
