    Immediate opportunity for a Structural Engineer to join the Manufacturing Planning team of a global, Tier 1 Automotive Supplier. Seeking a candidate with a University Degree in Civil Engineering, specifically with a major in Structural Engineering. A qualified candidate will have 1-3 years work experience post graduation. This individual will assist with the selection and planning of new building sites, structures, and facility expansions. This is a direct hire role into our client company.

    Hiring Company is a Tier 1 automotive, full-service supplier that provides metal stamping, modular weld assemblies, BIW structures and components to international automotive manufacturers.

    • Salary + bonus + full benefits plan
    • 25-30% travel to factory locations within Mexico and Canada

    Responsibilities:

    • Participation in the selection of new manufacturing plant locations.
    • Responsible management of Greenfield and Brownfield Building projects, including construction cost estimation.
    • Participation in creating of layout planning for all manufacturing locations.
    • Monitoring of building permission procedure and authority contacts.
    • Development and implementation of standards for efficient technical infrastructure.
    • Participation in the development of a modular factory structure.
    • Reviews appropriateness of manufacturing/tooling processes process.
    • Compliance of engineering processes within company policies and procedures.
    • Contributes to managing costs and budget.
    • Accountable for ensuring development timelines are met prior to award.
    • Set project schedule and implement projects to meet timelines.
    • Review architectural & engineering design drawings.
    • Provide value engineering suggestions to reduce construction cost.
    • Maintains strong, positive relationships with customers and addresses issues/concerns in a timely and effective manner.
    • Follows company policies, procedures, engineering standards and control methods.
    • Compliance with government legislation while working on company business.

    Qualifications:

    • 1-3 years’ experience in the automotive or construction industry.
    • Strong knowledge in factory/plant building design/layout and implementation with cost experience.
    • Familiar with software programs that deal with relevant Sales and Engineering functions (AutoCad, pack assist, Microsoft Project, Excel).
    • General knowledge of government legislation affecting the workplace, e.g., health and safety.
    • Preferred to have OSHA 30 certificate, familiar with building codes e.g., ACI, AISC, ASHTO, ASCE & RS Means.
    • Secure application of modern IT and communication techniques.
    • University Degree/College Diploma in Graduated Civil Engineer, major in Structural Engineering desired.
