    SENIOR QUALITY PLANNING SPECIALIST

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Analyzing alignment and tolerances. If required, determining alignment and tolerances for individual parts.
    • Moderate the P-FMEA.
    • Develop production control plans for series production.
    • Develop method plans for part specific-gauges.
    • Reporting the project status to the customer via customer-specific systems such as QPN, RMT.
    • Monitoring quality levels of prototypes, pre-series parts, and initial samples.
    • Acting as the primary contact for quality up to the point of handover to the production location.
    • Supporting the production locations if required.
    • Passing through gates in the project (defined tasks) specified in the PDP.
    • Storing relevant documents in CIM DATABASE, according to the workflow.
    • In-depth knowledge of methods for identifying and highlighting potential risks in products and processes at an early stage.
    • Competent contact for other departments.
    • 20% travel required in US, possibly Canada and Mexico. Early 2020 there will be quite a bit of travel to South Carolina.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • 3-5 years’ experience in a Quality and Engineering environment in manufacturing/automotive industry
    • Minimum 2 years as a Quality Planning Specialist
    • Experience working for a Tier 1 on Ford account and other OEM's.
    • Understanding of AIAG 5 Core Tools i.e. PPAP, APQP, MSA, SPC and FMEA requirements
    • Strong knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T), Significant Characteristics (SC) selection, Statistical Process Control, customer-specific requirements.
    • Good understanding of customer specific test methods applicable to part requirements
    • Certified Quality Engineer CQE body of knowledge
    • APQP Product Launch skills
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
    • Effective problem-solving skills (8D) and decision-making skills
    • Ability to read blueprint drawings
    • Computer skills, i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Outlook
    • Ability to conduct effective training sessions
    • Will need to have experience with a few: Electric vehicles, Battery trays, Laser (hybrid) welding, Laser 3D Scanning, Laser cleaning, Aluminum welding, Leak testing, Milling (machining), and/or E-coat

    EDUCATION:

    • University Degree or College Diploma specializing in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Metallurgical Engineering
