  • Responsibilities

    Turning Point Search is seeking an Engineering Manager for direct hire with a Tier 1, global, full-service supplier whose specialties are metal stamping, modular weld assemblies, BIW structures and components.

    This person will manage the timeline, stamping, sourcing, engineering change process, and launch.

    This is a full time, direct hire opportunity with base+bonus, as well as full benefits.

    • Develop products, tools and processes utilizing the “state of the art” methods and techniques.
    • Follow up projects to ensure that they are completed in a timely manner and meet the design intent.
    • Stay abreast of customer engineering procedures and requirements (i.e. feasibility studies, durability testing as per ES SPECS, products validation, ECR, FMEAS, etc.).
    • Serve as customer liaison to ensure that all customer needs are achieved; function as a key player in the plant operation to support other departments from a technical standpoint.
    • Identify, address, follow up and close all issues.
    • Prepare timelines and keep management informed of progress issues.
    • Ensure during design that all safety features are implemented.
    • Ensure IATF 19649 & ISO 14001 compliance.
    • Designated manager responsible for the protection of intellectual properties.
    • Ensure that other departments provide the appropriate support to the plant. For example: work instructions, set-up sheets, safe equipment, useable tools, and effective processes.

    Required Skills:

    • Minimum 10 years automotive experience including 5 years supervisory experience.
    • Must have metal stamping industry background.
    • College Degree in Mechanical Engineering or certified Tool & Die Maker with 10 years applicable experience.
    • Thorough understanding of IATF 16949 and ISO 14001requirements.
    • Familiar with software programs that deal with relevant engineering functions.
    • General knowledge of provincial legislation affecting the workplace, e.g. health and safety.
