JOB DESCRIPTION
Turnitin is looking for a Product Operations leader to help support the Turnitin Products organization. You’ll play a key part in shaping the processes in the products organization and how we partner with the Executive Team, Engineering, Finance, Sales, Alliances, Marketing, Business Operations, Support and Services. As a product organization we are transforming to be customer and business focused and adopting Shape Up by Basecamp to create this alignment. You will represent the product organization in this transformation, and help to mature the processes so that we can delight customers and achieve desired business results, while operating effectively in close partnership with all key stakeholders across Turnitin. A well organized individual with a customer and business mind set that can effectively guide the team will succeed at this role.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:
Assist in developing organizational goals, track progress across teams in delivering on the goals
Weekly update & dashboard on progress
Facilitate update by each team
Capture notes and track follow-ups
Drive annual planning, the format and execution and follow-up
Define a product and feature end of life process, with cross department collaboration and appropriate decision-making oversight
Define a beta and release process that coordinates internal resources and coordinates with customers their participation, while capturing feedback that is actionable for GA or future releases
Serve as a central point of contact for inbound requests from revenue generating teams, coordinating a unified response from product organization
Identify and actively build connections with relevant subject-matter experts across the company to surface insights, to get them excited about what product team is building, and to pave the way for smoother future rollouts
Develop a robust and scalable mechanism for online/distributed team collaboration
Visibility into Shape Up process
Pitches being written, mechanism to contribute / provide feedback
Betting process and visibility of outcomes
Status of pitch implementation in partnership with Engineering
Visibility into success of pitch implementation (customer use)
Assess and procure tooling for visibility into product use by customers
Develop process to collect, quantify, curate and communicate product enhancement feedback from internal (sales, marketing, services, engineering, etc.) and external stakeholders (customers, partners)
Own the development and maintenance of product organization portal to ensure continuous alignment across team members and between departments
Posting of regular updates
Organized collateral that is easy to find, groomed for recency
Collaboration with finance business partner
Budget planning, tracking spend to budget
Review department tools selection, optimize tooling to fit into budget, develop an ongoing budget and maintenance program for the tools
Facilitate cross-team deliverable creation and maintenance
Updated roadmaps
QBR presentations
User conference presentations
Qualifications
QUALITIES WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
You have previous experience in Product Operations, Program Management, Chief of Staff, Product Management, or similar role
You care how well the product organization scales and how efficiently each team member operates to achieve the desired customer and business results
Have great written and verbal communication skills to communicate decisions, processes, and trade-offs
Can develop an effective cross-department collaboration model
Experienced in partnering with and bringing into alignment multiple departments
Capture the data across departments and formulate a qualitative & quantitative understanding to be used to prioritize the problems to address
