As a part-time private tutor with Denver Test Prep, you’ll work 1-on-1 with motivated students to provide highly personalized instruction in standardized test prep (ACT/SAT, ISEE/HSPT), academic coaching, and/or K–12 subject tutoring. Tutors meet students in person at homes, libraries, or offices across the Denver/Boulder area. This flexible, part-time position is ideal for experienced educators seeking meaningful, high-impact work with driven students. Tutors are responsible for tailoring lessons to individual student needs, teaching strategy-based content, tracking progress, and maintaining clear communication with families and the DTP team. Afternoon, evening, and weekend availability is required. COMPENSATION $75-85 for each 90-minute tutoring session The starting rate of pay is $50/hour for tutoring, plus an additional $20/hour for time spent driving to and from tutoring sessions. Responsibilities: • Deliver high-quality, 1-on-1 academic tutoring, ACT/SAT test prep, and/or academic coaching that meet each student’s individual goals. • Develop customized lesson plans and adjust instruction based on student progress and needs. • Maintain excellent communication with families and Denver Test Prep leadership, providing regular updates on student progress and session outcomes. • Manage scheduling directly with families, coordinating session times and locations across the Denver and Boulder metro areas. • Drive to in-person tutoring sessions at homes, offices, libraries, and other agreed-upon locations. • Track and document student performance, session notes, and key milestones to ensure students stay on track toward their goals. Qualifications: • Graduate of a 4-year college or university. • Two or more years of teaching or tutoring experience required. Experience with high school students and group or classroom teaching experience preferred. • Ability to achieve a top 2% score on the ACT and SAT (measured by an official practice test later in the interview process for ACT/SAT tutors) • Strong track record of clear and effective communication with diverse stakeholders. • Candidates must excel at working with middle and high school-age students. Ability to work with elementary age students preferred, but not required. • No criminal history. • A reliable car to get to tutoring sessions. Compensation: $50 hourly
