We offer: Competitive pay & supportive coaching Part-time, flexible schedule to fit your lifestyle Real opportunity to make a direct impact in the lives of children and families Position Description: Tutors provide individual and/or group tutoring (in-person and/or virtual) to students across a broad range of courses based on their professional or personal area(s) of expertise. Tutors meet with students to clarify and review concepts in which development or acceleration is needed, explain processes, and help students grow academically and resolve academic challenges. The emphasis and content of the tutoring sessions are determined by the student's goals and needs. Tutors work with colleagues and leadership to support their own professional development and growth. Tutor Responsibilities: Create a professional and welcoming environment by modeling respect for students' diverse cultures, language skills, and experiences Use active listening strategies to allow student to determine content and pace of tutoring Provide student-centered instruction in subject-specific content Recognize primary role to help students become more confident, more successful, self-directed learners Provide direct assistance in the use of equipment, learning objects, and materials needed for student success Utilize listening and questioning strategies as the primary social-emotional method to identify student needs and monitor progress Be direct and kind towards students and families Recognize and respect different learning styles and student preferences Participate in coaching professional development activities to improve skills and continue to expand cultural competence Utilize feedback and reflection to improve practice Qualifications: Some college (Bachelor's degree preferred) AP-level knowledge in Math (if applicable) Reliable, compassionate, highly skilled, motivated individual with strong interpersonal skills. Previous teaching, tutoring and/or SAT prep experience, preferred Candidates must have a passion for Education and helping students excel. No teacher certification required.
