    Job Description

    SUMMARY OF POSITION/DAILY ACTIVITIES: 

     

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE (THE REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS WHICH ARE CRITICAL TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THE POSITION:

    • Undergraduate or graduate degree (BS, BA, AAS) in Computer Science or Information Technology related field, experience may be substituted for.
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in relevant Programming Language.
    • Assists with full life cycle applications development and design.
    • Assists with preparing technical documentation such as software requirements, design, code, and documentation.
    • Assists with preparing documentation on development requirements, development progress and recommendations.
    • Captures necessary measurements and metrics for CMMI purposes.
    • Candidates must be a U.S. Citizen.
    • Candidate must be eligible to obtain a security clearance.
    • Candidate must be able to obtain CompTIA Security+ certificate within 90 days of hire date.
    • Candidate must be able to obtain an Oracle Certified Associate Java SE 8 Programmer I certification or higher within 90 days of hire date.

     

    DESIRED SKILLS/CERTIFICATIONS (ANY ADDITIONAL SKILLS DESIRED BUT NOT REQUIRED TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THE POSITION):

     

    • Excellent communication and analytical skills, demonstrated working knowledge of Java and/or a specific state-of-the-art programming language.
    • Excellent understanding of software development best practices.  Can discuss various approaches to software development such as Agile and Scrum, Continuous Integration/Deployment and Waterfall.
    • Good database and SQL design skills.
    • A working knowledge of leading web frameworks such as GWT and MVC.
    • A working knowledge of design patterns.  Able to describe how design patterns can be used in projects.
    • A working knowledge of unit testing such as test-driven development with JUnit.
    • A working knowledge of Information Assurance (IA) as it pertains to the SDLC.
    • Good system design skills using UML.
    • Qualified applicants should have working knowledge with many of the following standards/frameworks/tools: J2EE, JSP, Servlets, Hibernate, Jenkins, GIT, Maven, ANT, Gradle, EJB, JBoss, JFrog, SQL, XML, Camunda, Oracle, MySQL, and reporting tools, i.e. Crystal Reports, High Charts, JavaScript charting libraries.
