Job Description

JOB DUTIES OF THE PRODUCTION / YARD / TRANSPORTATION MANAGER:

• Oversee production department to ensure safety, resolve operational, manufacturing, and facility problems
• Manage productivity
• Promote a safe work environment
• Coordinate environmental training 
• Coordinate traffic between the scale and the yard
• Perform hourly walkthroughs
• Write maintenance and repair bids
• Ensure all drivers are trained and DOT compliant
• Work with vendors and maintain relationships
• Coach, train, and develop employees

Qualifications

JOB REQUIREMENTS OF THE PRODUCTION / YARD / TRANSPORTATION MANAGER:

• 4+ years of production management, metals industry preferred
• Knowledge of ferrous and nonferrous metals
• Problem solver and quick thinker in an ever-changing environment
• College degree
