Two By Two Kennels and Farms, an AKC Breeder of Merit, Top Breeder of Lagotto, and Licensed Kennel, is seeking a Kennel/Farm Assistant. Our farm, where the kennel is located as well, is one of the top farms in Cobb county, producing goat and cow milk for local grocery stores along with chicken eggs. We are an organic (non-certified) farm. The candidate should be an eager, driven, respectful person who follows directions well and has a self-starter attitude and MUST work well in a team environment. The ideal candidate would have a 90-day probationary period after which time educational opportunities in the areas of dog training, grooming, and kennel management classes would be paid for by Two By Two Kennels in exchange for an employment agreement. Advancement opportunities, including dog training and grooming certifications, Animal Husbandry certifications, and management training are the ultimate goal for this potential employee. The ideal candidate would have a keen sense of professionalism, interpersonal skills, communication skills with clients and vendors, a motivated attitude, willingness to learn and be taught, no drama lifestyle, and a sense of personal excellence. Heavy lifting, ability to tolerate all weather conditions, ability to tolerate cleaning muck, and an ability to handle a high-pressure face paced environment is a must. Responsibilities include farm and kennel chores, daily feeding/walking/care of large and small animals including cows, goats, chickens, and canines. Seven days per week availability for the 40 -hour /week schedule is a must, with a 6:30 am - 4 pm shift pus rotating weekends, closing shifts from 7-9 pm once per week, and rotating holidays by seniority is a must. A desire to work with dogs in a professional setting is a must; kennel or farm management experience not required - we will train the right individual. A desire to work with farm animals is a must as well, and this desire must go past a simple love for animals. Duties include animal husbandry and operations, kennel and dog care, kennel maintenance and cleaning, dog grooming with training, dog training with education, dog care, and farm animal care/maintenance. Individuals with a clean driving record, ability to pass a background check, and drug free lifestyle only need apply.
