  • Responsibilities

    Job Description

    Responsibilities:
    • Design and model advanced 3D tooling components using current CAD software.
    • Create machine tool paths and generate CNC code using current CAM systems.
    • Reverse engineer parts and components using laser scanners, CMMs, or FaroArms when required.
    • Program, edit, and update G-code files for machining operations.
    • Set up and machine complex 3D surfaces using modern CNC machining centers.
    • Operate and maintain manual machine tools such as drill presses, radial drills, Bridgeport mills, and manual lathes.
    • Ensure design accuracy and part conformance using precision measuring tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, depth gauges).
    • Collaborate with production and finishing teams to troubleshoot design or machining issues and ensure fit and functionality.
    • Maintain organized records of design files, CNC programs, and process documentation.
    • Use Microsoft Windows and Office software to communicate, track, and report on tooling design activities.
    • Demonstrate a dedication to safety by wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) when entering and working in the plant.
    • Keep work area clean, safe, and orderly.

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Associate of Applied Science degree in Precision Machining from an accredited technical college or similar degree is highly preferred.
    • Extensive experience using modern CAD software to design and model 3D components.
    • Proficiency in CAM software for tool path creation and CNC code generation.
    • Strong ability to read, interpret, and edit G-code for CNC machining.
    • Demonstrated experience with CNC machining of complex surfaces.
    • Skilled in the use of reverse engineering equipment such as laser scanners, CMMs, or FaroArms (preferred).
    • Proficient in the use of all standard machine shop measuring and manual machining equipment.
    • Familiarity with Microsoft Windows and Office applications.
    • College-level coursework in CAD, CNC programming, or mechanical engineering is a plus.
    • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and always follow all safety rules/procedures.
    • Excellent attendance and punctuality.
