Justice Kennedy Learning Center Internship
The Justice Anthony M. Kennedy Library and Learning Center requests two or more interns to provide a unique educational opportunity for students to gain professional experience and increase student interest in careers with the Federal Judiciary and other associated fields. The internship program is unpaid with the student working in a voluntary capacity earning academic credit and/or work experience. Interns may also be funded by another entity.
The primary focus of the internship is civic education, event planning and community outreach. In this capacity interns provide support to maintain the high number of events held in the Kennedy Center including serving as the tour and public civic education docent. Interns accompany field trip classes during their visit to the courthouse and hear from all career speakers as well as research court cases, attend court observations and lead scripted mock trials.
In one year, the KLC can host 110 events and have 5700 visitors for various civic education programs and meetings. We are looking for individuals who can provide exceptional customer service to our internal and external publics including library patrons, museum visitors and student field trip programs.
