    Are you interested in a position that supports the federal Judiciary's mission of ensuring equal justice under the law?  This is an excellent opportunity for a college graduate interested in the legal field who wants to become familiar with court operations.  The Calendar Unit, U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, is seeking a talented Administrative Assistant to join our team.

    REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES

    • This position is located in the Clerk's Office and reports to the Calendar Supervisor. The Calendar Unit is responsible for setting the Court's hearing schedule and for providing judges with necessary case materials.
    • Data entry, copying, scanning, faxing, proofing, responding to requests from judges and attorneys, sending notices to attorneys, reviewing case materials for potential recusal issues, shipment of case materials and assisting others as needed.
    • The successful candidate will have a cheerful, professional demeanor and enjoy working within a diverse team environment.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    Two years of progressively responsible legal work experience in the above representative duties and:

    • General knowledge of court procedures, practices, and the Ninth Circuit; proficiency with email, window applications and Adobe Acrobat; ability to work independently or in a team environment; demonstrated, proactive, problem-solving approach; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; strong customer service ethic; and ability to understand and apply established rules and procedures.
    • Bachelor's degree preferred

    Salary*: Depending on qualifications and experience, $40,819 to $66,335 (CL23)
