    POSITION PROFILE

    The Custom Product Designer will create drawings and models in CAD to manufacture custom products based on our standard product lines.

     

    Required Skills

     

    ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

    Responsible for the documentation of product designs by creating solid models and detail drawings using Creo solid modeling design tools, including, but not being limited to:

    • Advanced working knowledge of Creo including ASSEMBLY, SHEETMETAL-DESIGN, and DETAIL
    • Advanced working knowledge of ASME Y14.5 and ASME Y14.100 Dimensioning, Tolerancing and Engineering Drawing Practices
    • Working knowledge of Windchill Product Data Management software
    • Knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes used in consumer product applications particularly steel tubing, sheet metal, and wood

    Acts as an integral member of the Custom Product Development team:

    • Develops the mechanical design of parts and assemblies that adhere to, and comply with, industry standard and advanced materials and manufacturing processes
    • Develops detail and assembly drawings with adherence to ANSI / ASME drafting standards.
    • Communicates with Custom Product Representatives and Knoll dealers to clarify design requirements and possible limitations
    • Fluidly manages multiple concurrent assignments
    • Initiates timely communication of project progress and challenges
    • Actively participates in appropriate team meetings
    • Ability to work flexible hours

     

    Required Experience

     EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

    Two years technical school / Associates Degree or approved equivalent

    TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE:

      • Minimum two years working experience utilizing Creo 3D mechanical design and detailing software and Windchill Product Data Management software or Solidworks experience
        • Mechanical aptitude, problem solving skills and innovative thinking
        • Ability to resolve product design issues based on manufacturing constraints
