Radiance Technologies, a rapidly growing employee owned company is searching for a talented, optics engineer and leader to join our development team. We are looking for a self-starter to help design a full High Energy Laser (HEL) testing suite for verifying prototypes are meeting requirements in the Army’s HEL programs. We are looking for a self-starter with excellent technical skills and creative design and problem-solving capabilities enabled by the application of physical and mathematical concepts across disciplines. Strong written and oral communication skills and ability to clearly convey complex concepts are a plus.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- PHD in Physics, Engineering, or relevant technical field
- Familiarity with statistical data processing, confidence intervals and error propagation
- Experience with NIST traceable measurement devices
- Experience with laser and optical system alignment
- Experience with optical instruments such as interferometers and alignment telescopes
- Experience with electronic instruments such as oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzers
- Skill using MATLAB or other software to model physical components and systems
- Experience with data collection with instrumentation and processing
- Experience in project management
Required Skills
- Master’s degree in Physics, Engineering, or relevant field
- US citizenship with ability to obtain a Secret clearance
Required Experience
- Demonstrated experience authoring scientific briefings and/or reports
- Laboratory experience in optics dealing with hardware
