Job description

Non-Profit Food Pantry Supervisor (full-time)

UA3, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization located in lower Manhattan, is seeking a full-time supervisor to oversee its food pantry. The Food Pantry Supervisor will work directly with the UA3 executive board, other paid staff and community volunteers and will be an integral part of the team and its overall success.

Responsibilities:

Oversight of Community First Food Pantry operations

Supervise three staff and large cohorts of volunteers

Ensure safety and compliance of operations

Create policies and operational rules for set-up and breakdown of twice-a-week public pantry days

Place weekly food orders and track spending down of public food allocations

Coordinate with Food Delivery Driver for shipment pick-ups, deliveries, and storage

Oversee the quality of donated/recovered food produce

Maintain a positive atmosphere and relations with public clientele

Schedule CBO (Community-Based Organizations) pick-ups and food deliveries

Provide bi-weekly reports to leadership

Approve events and maintain events log

Qualifications:

3 years experience in the food industry

Bilingual Chinese or Spanish a plus

Driver's license, and forklift certification a plus

Bachelor’s degree

Benefits:

40-hour work week with 1-hour lunch break

Salary: $45-$50K depending on experience
