    TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Full-Time

    CLASSIFICATION: Career Plan

    ANNUAL SALARY: $48,000 - $51,000

    FLSA STATUS: Salary/Exempt

    HOURS: Mon - Friday: 8 am. to 4:30 p.m. Hours vary and may include limited evenings and weekends.

    JOB SUMMARY:

    The Student Support and Housing Specialist is responsible for the administrative support of college housing, as well as, for providing support to students with personal life issues, mental health needs, and crisis intervention.  This position requires the staff member to be on-call 24-hours on a rotating basis with Manager of College Housing working limited nights and/or weekends.

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Maintain confidentiality in all matters related to students, faculty and staff including compliance with FERPA and HIPPA. Appropriate documentation of all student matters utilizing college technology and networking with the appropriate staff, faculty and/or campus patrol as needed.
    • Responsible for providing a safe living and learning environment for students while upholding safety standards both in College Housing and on campus.
    • Facilitate and work toward resolution of student concerns regarding living conditions, roommates and other related matters in College Housing. This may require collaboration with other College departments/administrators.
    • Works directly with the Vice President of Student Services, Director of Behavioral Intervention, and/or Manager of College Housing regarding violations of college housing or campus policies.
    • Work collaboratively with the Student Services team to best meet student personal life needs.
    • Create and facilitate seminars to support the personal, professional, and academic success of residents in housing, as well as, on the college campus.
    • Provide management for housing operations, processing student applications, and completing background checks of students applying to college housing in collaboration with the Director of Behavioral Intervention and Manager of College Housing.
    • Develop a pro-active action plan with activities and strategies to support students on campus and within college housing.
    • Work in collaboration and as a member of the Behavioral Education Success Team offering supportive services including assessment and referral to community-based providers. Also, connect students with on campus resources for academic support based on student needs.  This may include ‘drop in’ student appointments for those with personal life concerns on an as needed basis.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

     

    SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Reports directly to the Director of Behavioral Intervention and Support Services.

     

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Minimum of a Master’s degree in counseling, social work, psychology or related field required.  Prefer that the applicant is a licensed counselor, social worker, and/or psychologist in their respective profession with 2 years of post-master’s degree experience in an educational or mental health setting.

    • Computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office 365, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Google Drive applications and Internet applications strongly preferred.
    • Excellent people skills and ability to work independently.
