Direct Support Professional ILS
We, at UBU, aim to provide staff who are culturally aware, perhaps multilingual, LGBTQIA+, to meet the unique needs of the person served. Our objective is to provide a team of skilled workers with solid integrity and quality leadership to help break down the barriers presented in marginalized communities.
Working as a Community Support Professional, you will assist individuals in a one-on-one setting in their own homes as you support them to lead the life our clients see for themselves. You will provide support with a variety of activities, including community engagement, family involvement, managing medical appointments, household management, and other areas of daily living that the individual served may have difficulty addressing independently.
Direct Support Professional ILS Responsibilities:
Use a computer to document case notes.
Assist clients with household chores/tasks.
Reliably meet with clients when scheduled.
Ability to be confidential.
Encourage individuals to grow in confidence and independence.
Provide skill-focused services to support clients as they work towards their goals.
Alleviate barriers clients’ experience.
Treat all clients with respect, kindness, and patience.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED
Minimum of 1 year experience in the field. Prefer 3 years’ experience.
Possess a reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license and auto insurance.
Must be able to drive in all weather conditions.
Able to pass a Department of Human Services criminal background check.
Able to climb stairs, walk for extended periods of time.
Ability to do light lifting up to 30 pounds.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
