    COURSE SCHEDULER

    CLASSIFICATION: Level 2 / Class Code 2205 / Half Time (0.5 FTE) / Non-Exempt / Represented / Benefited

    HIRING SALARY RANGE: $23 - $32 / hour

    TELECOMMUTING OR REMOTE WORK: Flexible

    THE ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES 

    Under general supervision of the Provost & Academic Dean and in close collaboration with the Office of the Registrar, the Course Scheduler is responsible for developing and maintaining the College's course schedule.

    Typical duties and responsibilities consist of, but are not limited to, the following:

    • Develops and maintains the law school's course schedule, with guidance and input from the Provost & Academic Dean and Office of the Registrar.
    • Communicates with individual faculty re same.
    • Ensures that the Course Catalog, Course Scheduling software (Coursedog) and other College course information databases and documents are up-to-date.
    • Participates on faculty committees relating to the curriculum.
    • Coordinates cross-departmentally to ensure timely flow of information about the schedule.
    • Assists the faculty Curriculum Committee in developing and tracking new and recently-approved courses.
    • Proposes and implements improvements to the College scheduling and course catalog process to improve efficiency.
    • Tracks and inputs information into the adjunct database to generate faculty contracts. Inputs faculty contact information into Colleague.
    • Maintains the course schedule changes and notifies applicable parties of the change, e.g., on intranet pages that are faculty and student facing.
    • Performs other scheduling duties as assigned.

    REQUIREMENTS

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    • JD (preferred); Bachelor's Degree (required)

    • Three or more years of experience of progressively responsible work (preferably in higher education).

    • Course scheduling experience strongly preferred.

    • Experience with (preferred) or the ability to navigate University databases and customer relationship management systems, or other similar technology to collect, analyze, and interpret information (E.g. Colleague, Banner, Peoplesoft, Blackbaud, etc.).

    • Experience developing and identifying continuous process improvement opportunities.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

    • Working knowledge of Family Educational Rights & Privacy Act regulations.
    • Strong computer skills.
    • Ability to organize and manage large amounts of data effectively and accurately.
    • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively .
    • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
    • Ability to work with minimal supervision and manage multiple assignments at once.

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    • Manipulation of spreadsheets on a computer screen.
    • Must be available during peak registration periods.
