ABOUT THE CENTER FOR WORKLIFE LAW
The Center for WorkLife Law, housed at the University of California, Hastings College of the Law, is a leading national nonprofit and research organization devoted to advancing racial, gender and class equity in the workplace and in higher education.
WorkLife Law's current initiatives include legal advocacy to promote the rights of pregnant and breastfeeding workers; leadership training programs for advancing women leaders; research, tools, and training partnerships to interrupt bias and increase opportunities in business, law, STEM, construction trades, architecture, and other industries; The Pregnant Scholar initiative on pregnancy and parenting in higher education; research on how gender bias differs by race; and a path-breaking study on fair work schedules for hourly retail workers. Throughout the pandemic, WorkLife Law has also mobilized a COVID-19 emergency response, operating a free legal helpline for working caregivers and creating open-sourced resources.
THE ROLE
WorkLife Law employs two Program Associates who provide administrative support, ensure smooth running of daily operations, and work closely with the Center's Director, Deputy Director and Director of Women's Leadership to support WorkLife Law's groundbreaking work in pursuit of gender and racial equity.
The Program Associate will support WorkLife Law's directors and other staff members in a range of administrative and project tasks, including administrative support, scheduling, and other executive assistance for WorkLife Law's directors, as well as general office functions. Additional responsibilities will vary based on the Program Associate's qualifications and WorkLife Law's needs, but may include website and social media maintenance, event planning, project management, non-profit administration, and/or occasional assistance with research and writing.

The Center for WorkLife Law employs two Program Associates to perform the duties below. Responsibilities are assigned to a Program Associate based on qualifications and interest, as well as WorkLife Law's needs.
