    IRB ADMINISTRATOR

    ACADEMIC DEAN'S OFFICE

    CLASSIFICATION: Level 2 / Class Code 200 / Non-Exempt / Part-Time / Limited

    HIRING SALARY RANGE: $30-$40/hr. – commensurate with qualifications

    THE ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

    The IRB administrator will report directly to the Associate Dean for Research to implement IRB training and otherwise assist faculty with IRB compliance, analyses, and reviews. Tasks will include:

    • Ensuring compliance with human subject research regulations;
    • Training of persons at the College engaged in human subject research;
    • Serving as an ad-hoc information resource for faculty who are new to human-subjects research about what the IRB process entails, what training might be required, where to get it, what forms to fill out, how to complete them, and what external IRB might be best;
    • Organizing and maintaining IRB data; and
    • Troubleshooting IRB review questions with faculty and students.

    Hours will be variable, but are not likely to be more than 5-10 per week. Graduate students and early-career researchers who are looking for an opportunity to contribute to the College's research mission are especially encouraged to apply.

    REQUIREMENTS

    EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & ABILITIES

    • Bachelor's degree (advanced degree preferred).
    • Substantial experience with IRB compliance and processes at a research institution or facility.
    • Experience in policy and procedure development/review.
    • Strong skills in collaboration and teamwork.
