  • Responsibilities

    Review and analyze incoming customer specifications to determine the best/efficient

    method of manufacture and how the product will be produced within customer time

    commitments. Work with Sales/Pricing/Management to review RFP/RFQs to

    determine if plant is capable of accepting work.

     Develop the manufacturing work plan for all areas of the plants

    assigned.

    Develop plans that efficiently utilize all resources effectively and balance workloads to prevent

    overloading and underutilization of equipment and personnel.

    Determine resources needed, timing of deliveries/shipments, time allocation for each manufacturing

    process, component/vendor sourcing, distribution plan to maintain JIT inventory and

    delivery of finished work.

     Review production reports and work with operations management to ensure that

    production schedule meets customer and organization needs.

     May determine impositions and layouts required to create customer product to

    determine the time allocations required for the job.

     Revise manufacturing work plans as needed when there are late deliveries, missing

    files, machine breakdowns etc.

    Required Skills

    OTJ-MAN

    Requires excellent knowledge of functional area(s) related to the job or good knowledge related

    to a professional field of work.   Extensive knowledge of web and sheetfed printing processes strongly preferred.

    Able to consistently apply applicable policies, procedures,

    regulations, and program objectives when carrying out the duties of the job. May provide

    oversight of work conducted by junior level staff and/or review/audit work for accuracy. Must

    have advanced knowledge of technology to include computers and software programs such as

    MS Office or MAC word processing, spreadsheets or other programs specific to the job in order

    to complete job duties successfully. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills

    to communicate effectively across departments when completing assignments.

    Must have strong organizational skills with ability to manage deadlines and prioritize workload.

    Required Experience

    Minimum 2-5 years of relevant administrative/operational support in

    manufacturing operations or office environment directly related to the duties of the job, OR

    demonstrated ability to meet the job requirements through a comparable number of years of work

    experience. May possess additional education certification in this level.  Estimating and/or paper purchasing experience desired and helpful.
