Life Without Limits for Children with Disabilities The mission of United Cerebral Palsy of Orange County (UCP-OC) is to help children with disabilities reach their full potential and improve the quality of life for their families. Description: The Personal Care Attendant will assist families in providing care to persons with special needs. Job Responsibilities: -Predominately oversee the general care and supervision of person served-to include but not limited to dressing, feeding, toileting, and proper administration of medication-Initiate age-appropriate activities -Transport client to extra-curricular activities per guardian instructions -Ensure safety of client, screen and report incidents of suspected abuse or neglect -Manage care for siblings as required -Function as the primary liaison between UCP-OC and families -Responsible for accurate and detailed timekeeping -Perform other duties as requested by supervisor or leadership -Serve as ambassador of UCP-OC in the community by representing the mission and vision of our organization JobRequirements: -1 -2 years of proven care-giving experience -High School diploma or GED -Current First Aid/CPR certification -Negative TB test within past 2 years (and every 2 years thereafter); chest X-ray within past 5 years -Successful background check and drug test -Valid and current CA Driver's License and auto insurance -Ability to speak, read, and write effectively in the English language -Composure under pressure and a positive attitude Additional Job Requirements: -Consistently provide & update work availability to Admin team -Attend all Staff-in-Service events and participate in other scheduled meetings as required -Represent UCP-OC in an ethical and professional manner; maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion -Requires good judgement, integrity, dependability, and sense of responsibility -Demonstrates high level of quality work, attendance, and appearance -Adheres to all Company policies, procedures, and safety regulations -Adheres to local, state, and federal laws
