    UNITED CEREBRAL PALSY OF LOS ANGELES, VENTURA & SANTA BARBARA COUNTIES (UCPLA) is hiring a DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATE. This position will work directly with the Development and Marketing team. The Development Associate will play a key role in in the processing of donations and maintaining accurate data in the database which the entire team relies on for reporting and donor outreach.  The Development Associate will also provide administrative support to the Development and Marketing team, participating in all fundraising activities including donor and public relations, direct mail appeals, donor stewardship and special events.   

    ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 

    • Processing and maintaining incoming donations 
    • Work with the Database Manager to maintain the accuracy of constituent records in our Raiser’s Edge database including creating records, updating records and inactivating records
    • Provide support for preparing acknowledgment letters, gift substantiations and other correspondence
    • Support fundraising events, appeals and direct mail solicitations
    • Provide support with execution of internal and external events 
    • Perform other duties as assigned to meet department or business needs

    DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATE QUALIFICATIONS: 

    • High School diploma or equivalent
    • A minimum of one to three years of related work experience. Administrative experience working for a non-profit organization is a plus.
    • Solid knowledge of MS Office including Outlook, Word and Excel
    • Customer service experience (preferred)
    • Experience with Raiser’s Edge is a plus
    • Experience maintaining detailed records in a database
    • Have reliable transportation, valid driver’s license and insurance at required by California laws
