    UNITED CEREBRAL PALSY OF LOS ANGELES, VENTURA & SANTA BARBARA COUNTIES (UCPLA) is currently hiring a COMMUNITY LIVING SPECIALIST (CLS) to promote the individual rights of people living with disabilities in Santa Monica and Culver City. As a CLS, you’ll have the opportunity to help the people we serve build effective relationships and ties to their community. You will provide instruction and support in living skills, identify and facilitate access to community resources, and coordinate resources as requested or required by people served. Responsibilities also include coordinating Direct Support Professionals who support people served to accomplish daily living activities at the person’s home and/or in the local community.     SCHEDULE AVAILABLE: MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM

    AVAILABILITY TO WORK FLEXIBLE 8 HOURS BASED ON CLIENT NEEDS

    AVAILABILITY TO SERVE ON EMERGENCY CELL PHONE ON A ROTATING BASIS

    ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 

    • Provide independent living skills training, support, and case management services to individuals with developmental disabilities in the individual’s own home and community  
    • Supervise and coordinate the activities of Direct Support Professionals
    • Provide oversight; coordinates personal care, training, and support to meet the goals and objectives of the individuals served
    • Complete required paperwork, including notes, reports, logs, etc.
    • Participate in on-going in-service training    
    • Other duties as assigned

    COMMUNITY LIVING SPECIALIST QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor’s degree in a human services-related field is preferred (may be substituted with a high school diploma or equivalent with two years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities)
    • Experience preferred
    • Ability to set priorities, perform job duties in an orderly fashion, and complete job duties effectively and efficiently
    • Successfully pass all post offer, pre-employment screening requirements, including criminal background check, drug screening, and provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States
    • Reliable transportation
