    United Cerebral Palsy of Los Angeles, Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties (UCPLA) is hiring an EVENTS COORDINATOR to coordinate and execute all events and program activities for UCPLA, the family groups, board events, and subsidiary organizations. The Events Coordinator plans and directs special events and acts as event(s) liaison between UCPLA, the planning committees, family groups, program administrators, auxiliary groups, vendors, and donors. This position reports directly to the Director of Communications and Marketing and works closely with the Development Team.

    EVENTS COORDINATOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Identify target groups, develop concepts and designs, coordinate mailings of promotional materials and invitations, and direct logistical planning
    • Maintain records on event budgets (expenses and revenue), event timelines, social service permits (as required), in-kind donations, logistics, orders, vendor contracts and invoices, progress, and status
    • Attend events, as required, to oversee activities and ensure details are executed as planned
    • Assist with contract negotiation with vendors for a variety of goods and services related to special events planning
    • Develop and maintain an extensive network of contacts, both internal and external, to facilitate event coordination
    • Develop and control budgets on a program or event basis
    • Coordinate members of the Development Team in the research and maintenance of current information on volunteers, donors, and prospective donors
    • Coordinate details of cultivation events such as the UCPLA Employee Recognition Dinner, the Annual Dinner, and Coordinating Council Meetings for the UCPLA Auxiliary groups, and other events throughout the year.
    • Coordinate with the Director of Communications and Marketing in the design and execution of website, social media, online event sites, invitations, sponsorship materials, and other event marketing and promotional materials
    • Other duties as assigned

    EVENTS COORDINATOR QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor’s degree preferred
    • Raiser’s Edge database experience preferred
    • Minimum of two years of experience in nonprofit fundraising
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
    • Ability to effectively manage, with a high degree of accuracy, multiple projects and deadlines
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with solid computer literacy and skill in using the internet for research
    • Valid and current proof of legal right to drive in California and proof of insurance
    • Ability to work evenings and weekends as required to fulfill duties
