    Job Description

    The UCaaS Sales Engineer partners with the sales and Channel teams to design, present, and support cloud communication solutions for prospective and existing customers. This role combines deep technical knowledge with strong communication skills to translate business needs into scalable UCaaS solutions. This job requires up to 50% travel for customer sites, partner visits, tradeshows, etc.

    Key Responsibilities

    Pre-Sales Support

    Partner with Account Executives & Channel Managers to identify customer needs and technical requirements

    Lead discovery calls to assess current telecom/IT environments, and determine future needs

    Design tailored UCaaS solutions (VoIP, collaboration tools, contact center, API & AI integrations)

    Deliver product demonstrations and technical presentations

    Solution Design & Architecture

    Create high-level and detailed solution designs

    Ensure compatibility with customer infrastructure (network, security, endpoints)

    Recommend best practices for deployment and scalability

    Support RFP/RFI responses with technical input

    Customer Engagement

    Act as the technical advisor and trusted consultant during the sales cycle

    Address customer concerns around reliability, security, and performance

    Provide proof-of-concept (PoC) support and pilot deployments

    Sales Collaboration

    Support deal strategy and positioning,

    Help articulate value propositions and ROI

    Assist in closing deals by resolving technical objections

    Post-Sales Handoff

    Work with implementation and support teams to ensure smooth onboarding

    Document solution architecture and customer requirements

    Required Skills & Qualifications

    Technical Skills

    Strong knowledge of:

    VoIP/SIP protocols

    Networking fundamentals (QoS, VLANs, firewalls, VPNs)

    Cloud platforms and SaaS delivery models

    Experience with UCaaS platforms (e.g., RingCentral, Zoom, MS Teams, Mitel, Avaya)

    Understanding of integrations (CRM, APIs, contact center tools)

    Understanding of AI Tools, and an interest in being part of a leading-edge technology development

    Soft Skills

    Strong presentation and demo skills

    Ability to translate technical concepts into business value

    Excellent communication and customer-facing abilities

    Problem-solving and consultative mindset

    Experience

    2–7+ years in sales engineering, solutions engineering, or telecom/IT roles

    Experience in UCaaS, CCaaS, or telecom is highly preferred

    Preferred Qualifications

    Certifications (e.g., Cisco, Microsoft, or vendor-specific UCaaS certs)

    Experience with contact center solutions (CCaaS)

    Familiarity with security and compliance standards (HIPAA, SOC 2, etc.)

    Typical Tools & Technologies

    VoIP/SIP tools (e.g., Wireshark, softphones, desk phones, mobile applications)

    CRM platforms like Salesforce

    Network diagnostic tools

    Demo environments and sandbox systems

    Success Metrics

    New Logo & Upsell win rate and technical close support

    Customer satisfaction during pre-sales

    Accuracy and scalability of solution designs

    Time to deployment and handoff efficiency
