Job Description

UES, Inc. has an opportunity available for a Laboratory Operations Coordinator to join our team working at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, OH. The Laboratory Operations Coordinator will ensure continuity of lab operations, train personnel on instrumentation, and support an exciting array of research projects related to synthetic biology, microbiology, and biomaterials. This role will work closely with UES and government leadership to implement future renovations and improvements to labs as well. Primary functions for this role will include:

• Ensure efficient and organized operation of the laboratory
• Maintain and order common lab supplies/consumables
• Identify equipment maintenance needs and remedy in timely manner
• Acts as point-of-contact for instrumentation and laboratory space
• Engage in regular research team meetings
• Contribute to and coordinate lab improvements and renovations
• Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

• B.S. with 6 yeas of experience or and M.S. with 4 years related experience in molecular biology or similar discipline
• Experience in molecular biology or microbiology labs is strongly preferred
• Experience in leadership roles or lab management is desired
• Possess the ability to identify and troubleshoot issues with laboratory protocols, procedures, and experimental plans
• Knowledgeable in biological lab safety protocol
• Exemplary organizational skills with a proven track record of working effectively independently and as a team player
• This position is working within a government facility and requires U.S. Citizenship
