  • Responsibilities

    Private family seeks a polished and dependable full-time Private Driver to support daily transportation needs at their Upper East Side residence in Manhattan. The driver will provide safe, punctual, and reliable service for the family, including school commutes, after-school activities, and errands, as well as occasional trips to their secondary residence in the Hamptons. This position follows a Monday through Friday schedule, starting at 7:30am and typically concluding around 5:30pm, with flexibility for later evenings and occasional weekends as needed. The family maintains a dynamic and fast-paced household with frequent after-school and evening activities that may extend later into the evening several nights per week. This role averages 40-50 hours per week, with the potential for 5-20 additional overtime hours depending on candidate preference.

    The family seeks a long-term, professional driver who is considerate, reliable, and brings a positive attitude while operating with independence and sound judgment. The ideal candidate is calm, focused, and composed, maintaining a quiet, professional presence in the car. They must remain alert at all times and be exceptional with children - patient, attentive, and kind - creating a safe, comfortable environment while upholding appropriate boundaries. A tech-savvy, adaptable individual who can manage dynamic family calendars and anticipate needs will thrive in this role. A vehicle is provided for all job-related driving, and familiarity with New York City and the Tri-State area is essential, along with confidence navigating both city and suburban routes.

    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Safely transport family members and guests to various locations on a daily basis
    • Accounting for the insurance, registration, and the maintenance of the vehicle; ensuring all records are up to date and all services are recorded
    • Maintaining vehicle for guest readiness at all times (gas levels, cleanliness of vehicle, etc.) 
    • Preparing routing, directions and additional due diligence in advance in order to maintain the utmost safety while driving
    • Communicating with additional staff members; executing the needs of an ever-changing calendar
    • Assisting principals in and out of the vehicle
    • Ensure safety, discretion, and professionalism at all times
    • Additional general driving duties upon request

    Requirements:

    • Strong command of English language; outstanding writing and verbal communication
    • Excellent references required from both current and previous employers
    • Minimum 3+ years related experience working in a similar role
    • Excellent knowledge of New York City and Tri-state area
    • Polished, poised, and professional in both mindset and manner, use of utmost discretion at all times
    • Positive attitude and adaptable to evolving family schedules
    • Must be comfortable with children and pets
    • Calm and professional demeanor
    • Must be able to assist passengers in and out of the vehicle
    • Exceptional organizational and time management skills and the ability to multi-task and prioritize work
    • Proficiency with Outlook, iPhone, and other related technologies
    • Valid Driver’s License, confident driver with zero points on license
    • Legally authorized to work in the United States

    Compensation: $40 - $50/hr + Benefits
