The responsibilities of a Sales Trainee/Product Specialist are the following:
• PRICE PAGES
- Develop, maintain and disseminate price pages on assigned product lines
• BE AN EXPERT ON THE PRODUCT LINE(S)
- Through training, self-study and practical application become an expert on the assigned product line(s).
- Be able to educate, train and promote the product with co-workers, distributors and end users.
- Build trust and confidence in the product, brand and supplier.
• INTERACT WITH CUSTOMERS AND CONSUMERS
- o Perform product knowledge seminars at customer locations and via webinars
- o Attend customer and industry events to promote product lines.
• PULL-THROUGH SALES
- o By working with retail yard, salespeople, specifiers and end users convert competitor product lines to our brands.
- o Utilize marketing to generate appropriate contractors.
- o Develop and Maintain an email and phone database of UFP customers in HubSpot
• HAVE MARKET KNOWLEDGE
- o Know and be able to speak to the competitive products in the marketplace.
- o Have knowledge of technical differences.
- o Be aware of competitive pricing.
• MARKETING
- o Maintain inventory of marketing materials.
BROCHURES, INSTALLATION MANUALS, PRICE PAGES.
- o Advise and achieve placement of displays and signage at customer locations.
- o Maintain displays and literature supplies at customer locations.
WORK WITH CUSTOMERS AND UFP PERSONNEL TO DEVELOP CUSTOMIZED OR NEW DISPLAYS AS NEEDED.
- o Assure that all marketing supplies have UFP contact information.
- o Make sure that any catalogs or pricing at customer locations is up to date.
- o Attend customer and trade shows as needed.
• JOINT SALES CALLS
- o Work with UFP Account managers to engage and close on prospective new sales opportunities.
• INVENTORY INSPECTION / PRODUCT CULL
- o Inspect inventory at customer locations and advise of any issue with damage or slow sales.
• TRAVEL
- o Be able to travel in assigned territory.
- o Be available to travel to vendor locations for training.
- • Be literate in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
