We’re looking for a skilled Directional Drill Locator to join our fiber construction crews in Albuquerque. This is a critical field role — the locator is the one who keeps the bore on track, protects utilities, and ensures every drill shot is done safely and accurately.

What You’ll Do

Use professional locating equipment to track the drill head underground

Communicate real‑time depth, pitch, and direction to the drill operator

Keep the bore within alignment and depth tolerances

Prevent utility strikes by maintaining safe clearances

Walk the bore path and identify hazards before the drill reaches them

Confirm entry and exit points match the approved bore plan

Mark the bore path and maintain constant visual control

Assist with potholing and exposing utilities when needed

Help set up pits and maintain safe, compliant work zones

Support the drill operator and ground crew throughout the job

What You Bring

Experience locating for directional drilling

Strong understanding of underground utilities and safe digging practices

Ability to read bore plans and communicate clearly

Attention to detail and commitment to safety

Ability to stay focused, alert, and proactive in the field
