  • Responsibilities

    PIH Health is a nonprofit regional healthcare delivery network founded over 50 years ago. Our two campuses including a 548-bed facility in Whittier and a 199-bed facility in Downey, help to provide services to approximately 1.5 million residents in Los Angeles, Orange County and the greater San Gabriel Valley.

    Reports to the Nurse Manager and is under the supervision of the Anesthesiologist during a case/procedure. Provides anesthesia support services throughout the medical center in conjunction with surgical and interventional procedures requiring anesthesia. The technician functions as a member of the anesthesia and surgical team. Assists in case preparation, induction, extubation, technical and functional support, and between case turnover of rooms between procedures.

    Required Skills

    • Familiar with the functioning and requirements of a surgical suite and the processes and requirements of anesthesia care.
    • Demonstrate ability to utilize and maintain a wide variety of health care equipment.
    • Demonstrate skill to respond quickly and efficiently in fast paced environment.
    • Proficient in English. Knowledge of basic medical terminology.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills

    Required Experience

    • High School Diploma/GED.
    • One year training as technician.
    • Anesthesia Technician Certification
    • Knowledge of sterile techniques to provide sterile hands-on assistance.
