    SUMMARY:

    The Senior Risk Management Analyst will provide critical support to the AVP of Fraud Risk Management in the development, implementation and execution of the strategy, processes, and tools necessary to operationalize and enhance the credit union’s Risk Management framework. Time will be spent assessing, detecting, and addressing risk in three primary areas:  business continuity; organizational insurance and bond coverage; and enterprise risk management.  The Senior Analyst is responsible for developing, analyzing, reporting, and challenging data, and will recommend opportunities for improved efficiency, effectiveness and/or risk reduction within the organization.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Assists in the development, implementation, and maintenance of the credit union’s risk management framework utilizing industry best practices.
    • Performs first-line-of-defense data collection, analysis and report preparation.
    • Partners with others throughout the organization to identify applicable key risk indicators, develop action plans, and implement needed updates.
    • Tracks regulatory changes and industry best practices to ensure compliance and appropriate oversight of risk management department initiatives and responsibilities.
    • Takes the lead in organizational business continuity planning.  Creates and maintains Business Impact Analyses (BIA) for departments within the organization. Analyzes BIA data and ensures that business units make  appropriate changes to their business continuity plans as needed. 
    • Takes ownership of credit union insurance and fidelity bond needs and carrier relationships.  Consults with internal leaders to track major organizational changes throughout the year.  Advises of recommended adjustments or updates to coverage, and leads all policy renewals.  Manages all claims as needed. 
    • Assists with risk assessments and reporting for credit union enterprise risk management as needed.  Collaborates with department leaders to gather information and assess risk associated with identified credit union projects or initiatives.
    • Assists with special projects related to risk as needed.
    • Ensures full compliance with UNIFY Financial Credit Union Service Standards, policies, and procedures, as well as all applicable state and federal regulations
    • Other duties as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred.  Significant relevant work experience in lieu of a degree may be considered.
    • 7+ years’ experience in general risk management required.
    • 5+ years’ experience in business continuity planning, insurance/bond coverage analysis and negotiation, and/or enterprise risk management within a financial institution required.
    • Knowledge of, and demonstrated experience in, risk management processes, controls and methodologies required. 
    • Must be able to think critically and make reasoned recommendations and decisions. 
    • Must be able to facilitate discussions and work collaboratively with numerous internal stakeholders.  Strong relationship building and communication skills are required.
    • Ability to work independently and effectively in both a remote and in-person environment.
    • Self-motivated with a high level of positive energy and engagement.
    • Must thrive in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment.
