CO-OP - COMPUTER SCIENCE MAJOR

ABOUT THIS ROLE:  

The CO-OP will be part of the UPS.com DevOps Automation Team.  The UPS.com DevOps Automation Team allows for the automation of: Servers, Monitoring Tools and application deployments for both legacy and Openshift environments.  The CO-OP will assist in automation of software deployment to Linux servers running Weblogic Application server and Apache Web server.  He/She will assist in perform troubleshooting of application systems and resolves issues.  The CO-OP will assist in creating tools/solutions to meet application teams needs.

MUST BE ABLE TO WORK 15 - 20 HOURS PER WEEK WHILE SCHOOL IS IN SESSION.  POTENTIALLY WORK 40 HOURS PER WEEK WHEN SCHOOL IS NOT IN SESSION.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Academic or real-world experience coding in one or more of the following languages: Python, Ansible, JavaScript and C#
• Familiarity with Linux System Administration, Linux Application Development and Java Programming
• Academic or real-world experience with Ansible Tower is considered a Plus
• Experience with Microsoft Office
• Excellent written & verbal communication skills
• Troubleshooting skills 
• Critical thinking skills
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

The desired CO-OP will be currently enrolled in a degreed college/university program pursuing a degree in Computer Science, MIS, Mathematics or related discipline, or has graduated from a degreed college/university program within the last 24 months with a degree in Computer Science, MIS, Mathematics or related discipline.
