    The UPS Stores are independently owned, locally owned retail businesses providing products & services that meet our customers' packing, shipping, mailbox and printing needs with exceptional customer service. The UPS Store in Edgewater is looking for an experienced, motivated, reliable associate for a position with approximately 20-25 hours of work per week, with the ability to work afternoons and weekends required. The position has variable hours between 12:00pm-6:30pm M-F and 10:00am-6:00 pm on Saturdays. Maintain the high-quality standards expected of Senior Associates in the Store, and do so independently and unsupervised. QUALIFICATION AND REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. - Prior customer service experience in a retail environment preferred but not required. - Can work Mondays through Sundays. - Be punctual and dependable. - Take initiative and stay on task. - Can focus on and complete several tasks at the same time. - Have POS and PC computer experience. - Have strong communication and interpersonal skills. Have ability to use tact and diplomacy to maintain harmonious relationships with customers in person and over the phone. - Can lift 70 lbs regularly. - Can stand for extended periods of time. - Have manual hand dexterity to operate computers, copiers and office machines; to complete customer paperwork; and to use hand tools such as box cutters and tape guns essential to the job performance. - Have access to reliable method of transportation. - Graphic Design experience a plus. - Ability to become a Notary Public* preferred. * Any United States resident who is at least 18 years of age may apply to become a notary public. The notary applicant must have at least the equivalent of an 8th grade education, pass the WDFI notary exam with a score of 90% or better and have a felony free record and/or a record that is free of misdemeanors that show a violation of the public trust. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. - Smile. Greet customers and determine how to exceed their expectations. Deliver exceptional customer service through customer interaction and quality product delivery. Ensure complete customer satisfaction. - Receive and sort customers' mail and packages. - Process packages for courier shipping, including retrieving from customer's vehicle when requested, lifting and weighing packages on scale, determining best shipping method, entering shipping information into manifesting software, affixing labels, and checking the worthiness of packages for shipping. - Record all sales transactions in POS system and accurately process cash, check and credit card transactions. - Pack contents for shipping using established procedures and products. - Assist in merchandising the center, including: stocking shelves with product, ensuring a clean and orderly appearance of product, being informed on product specifics (i.e. warranties, durability claims, pricing, etc.) - Operate copiers, fax machines, laminating equipment, binding equipment and all other office machines in a safe, efficient and productive manner. Help customers operate office machines. - General housekeeping duties, including, but not limited to, light cleaning, filing paperwork, maintaining a clean and organized center. - Up-Sell and Cross-Sell the center's products and services.
