    Company Description

Our mission is to empower students to excel academically, explore their interests, and make meaningful contributions to their communities. At Urgent Academy, we aim to build each student's capacity to envision and design their future with confidence, purpose, and passion through arts, interests, and real-world connections.

    Educational Approach

UA’s instructional design emphasizes hands-on, project-based learning with real-world connections. We are committed to building a school culture where there is respect and cooperation among students, adults, and families. Applicants should be open to a dynamic, collaborative learning community.

At Urgent Academy, our innovative educational approach is designed around six core distinguishers that together create a transformative learning environment for our students. The heart of our community lies in our Advisory program, fostering deep, meaningful relationships and personalized guidance for every student. Our commitment to Real World Connection ensures learning extends beyond the classroom, making a tangible difference in our community. Through Personalized Interest-Driven Learning, we tailor educational journeys to each student's passions, supported by interest-driven Learning Plans and Project-Based Learning that integrates thematic content knowledge with practical application. Authentic Practice and Assessment strategies empower students to demonstrate and share their learning, while our unique blend of Arts and Technology ignites creativity and innovation.

    Role Description

Our teachers are Learning Coaches and Advisors. This is a 12-month full-time, on-site role for a Learning Coach/Advisor. This role is ideal for individuals who are not just educators but mentors, guides, and role models, i.e., individuals who are passionate about empowering students to become the best version of themselves. The LCA is often responsible for a multi-year educational journey of students, including their successful transition to high school.

As an LCA you will teach an interdisciplinary class that is integrated with advisory. Unlike “advisory” in most schools, Advisory at UA is an integrated academic learning block. In this role, you will develop, support, and monitor in-depth, multi-disciplinary projects with students and community partners. LCA’s work closely to develop and implement thematic Project-Based Learning curriculum, facilitate meaningful Real World experiences for students on and off campus, and co-create with student’s and families each student's Learning Through Interest Learning Plan. The LCA also makes sure that over the year(s), the student’s plan focuses on different learning goals and leads to the demonstration of advancing academic, personal and career connected standards, skills and competencies.
