    GMC Preparatory School is currently recruiting for a Prep School faculty member for SY21-22.   The position requires teaching high school science courses to our 9-12 graders with the specific subject load still to be determined.  This position also comes with coaching responsibilities (preferably in the areas of Varsity Boys Basketball and/or Varsity Boys Soccer) and or sponsorship of extra-curricular clubs/activities.

     

    In your cover letter and/or application, GMC Prep requests that you include sports and extra-curricular activities that you are qualified to coach/sponsor. Georgia Military College Prep School is a 3-12 grade (and will included K, 1, and 2 for SY21-22) public, independent, military, college-preparatory school with a total student enrollment of 700 for the current school year.

     

    The teaching position is full time with a 10 month (190 day) contract and comes with state-based salary, State Benefits, and membership in TRS.

     

    Minimum requirement: Applicants must hold a valid clear renewable Georgia teaching certificate in a 6-12 Science field or have a teaching certificate that Georgia Professional Standards will convert to a Georgia certificate under their guidelines.

  • Qualifications

     

    • Clean and prepare sand and gravel production facility to eliminate possible hazards, take initiative as necessary.
    • Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task.
    • Properly follow all company policies and OHSA/MSHA regulations for safe working procedures and environment.
    • Report all issues and problems to your manager.
    • Perform general Labor duties when necessary.
    • Must be computer literate and comfortable entering information into the computer.
    • Control traffic passing near, in, and around work zones.
    • Build and position forms for pouring concrete, and dismantle forms after use, using saws, hammers, nails, or bolts.
    • Perform daily pre and post inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with company policies.
    • Lubricate, clean, and general maintenance the machinery, and the Plant.
    • Smooth and finish freshly poured cement or concrete, using floats, trowels, screeds, or powered cement finishing tools.
    • Follow all safety policies and procedures for the activity the employee is working on. This will include using specific PPE including but not limited to a hard hat, safety vest, steel toe boos, safety glasses, fall harness or ear plugs.
    • Lift, carry and hold materials, tools and supplies.
    • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

    • Able to provide valid documentation for I-9 and E-Verify documentation
    • Ability to work in confined areas and heights
    • Familiar with hand and pneumatic tools a plus
    • Ability to work well with others and display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors and the general public at all times.
    • Report to work at the designated starting time and be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.
    • Be able to work overtime when required
    • Be willing to work outdoors in extreme temperatures, both hot and cold.
    • Be at least 18 years of age due to the nature of the working environment.

    • Must be capable of heavy physical labor work
    • Able to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk and hear.
